Website Template Setup

This section helps you download our website template and turn it into your online hub, with your course, your shop, and your payments all working smoothly. Keep it simple: you’re not building a website from scratch. You’re just swapping in your content, your colours, and your media.
Step 1: Download the Template + Setup Basics

Goal: get the template installed and your foundations in place.
In this step you’ll download the Smart Artist website template and get the basics set up so your site is live and ready to build on. We’ll walk you through the essential settings so you don’t get stuck on tech.
You’ll set up:
-
Your site name, key pages, and basic structure
-
Your domain (or connect one you already own)
-
Your payment method so you can take sales
-
Your core settings (so everything works properly from day one)
Before you start (quick checklist):
-
Your business / artist name
-
A short bio (2–3 sentences)
-
Your “One Thing” (the art form you’re focusing on)
-
A payment account ready to connect
-
Your online course name and section titles

Step 2: Collect Your Media (Photos + Video)

Goal: get high-quality visuals that make your work look professional.
Your website will only look as good as the media you put into it. This step is about collecting the photos and videos you’ll upload into the template. So when you swap things in, the site instantly looks polished.

Strong recommendation: if you can, book a photographer for a short shoot. Even a small session can level up your website massively.
You can absolutely film your course videos yourself on your phone — it doesn’t need to be expensive.
What you need to collect:
-
A set of clean photos of your best work (for homepage + shop)
-
1–2 professional photos of you (so people trust who they’re buying from)
-
A few “process” shots (you making the work)
-
Simple course videos (filmed on your phone is fine)
How we keep it simple:
-
Record on your phone
-
Edit for free (iMovie / CapCut or similar)
-
Keep videos short, clear, and focused on outcomes

Recording your course Demo
Step 3: Advanced Website Building
Goal: Upload and complete the website online course build. Adding email, customer service and payment automations.
Now you’ll start adding your videos and creating a system for your customers to move through. This will not only help you set up your course platform but will help you to market and make add on sales daily.
You’ll update:
-
On line course Platform
-
Automation emails
-
Automation invoices and payment system
-
Upsell offers to help you get daily sales
Tip: don’t try to perfect everything first. Get a “version 1” live, then improve it as you go.
