Who We Are
Oberi Art Ltd is more than a gallery or a shop – it’s a movement.
We are a creative collective, an artist training hub, and a community-driven force transforming Camborne, Cornwall into a vibrant centre for art and street culture. Our reach extends far beyond Cornwall through our international online membership, connecting and empowering artists across the globe.
Founded by Kexx Sumo, Nick, and Sumo, three artists who left their traditional jobs for lives of creativity and community impact, Oberi exists to prove that anyone can build a career doing what they love – and make a difference while doing it.
Our Story
In 2012, Kexx left her probation job to pursue photography and community art, focusing on street culture. She launched 4Elementz, a community project that secured grant funding and delivered creative programmes for over ten years. Today, she is a nationally recognised community artist with a large YouTube and social media following. Through her CIC, Tribe, she has helped thousands of social entrepreneurs secure over £32 million in grant funding. Oberi was born from her passion to do the same for community artists.
Nick, Kexx’s husband, worked as a scaffolder for 16 years before taking the leap to become a full-time sculpture artist. His own career change embodies the courage and creativity Oberi encourages in every artist.
Sumo, a long-time friend of Kexx, left his job to dedicate himself fully to graffiti art. He now plays a key role in Oberi’s public art projects, mentoring emerging street artists and shaping the collective’s urban aesthetic.
Together, they saw how art could transform not only spaces, but lives. That vision became Oberi: a place where artists can find the tools, training, and exposure to turn their passion into a sustainable career, while enriching the cultural heartbeat of their communities.
